I have just tried calling the phone number to see about gettin my case escalated as its been over 23 weeks since I applied and 10 weeks tomorrow from submitting via the IDV app. The gentleman on the phone informed me they are no longer allowing anyone to escalate their case and said you should hear back in 10 weeks from biometrics. For me 10 weeks is tomorrow and he told me I still need to wait and that is all I can do.

Has anyone else been told the same? I am starting to really have a hard time with this waiting game so far I have had a headache everyday for almost 2 weeks from stressing

I was told something different. They escalated my case and told me I would get an answer within 10 working days. If not, then I should call back. After the 10 days, I called back to escalate again and another 10 days have passed until I finally got an e-mail regarding  the first escalation.

Basically the e-mail just told me to wait and they blamed it on the coronavirus situation, etc, etc. Just a copy and paste e-mail.

I am convinced the escalation process doesn't add anything to the process. So I wouldn't worry too much about calling. In my case, it was just a waste of time + false hope. Probably just a way to tell us to wait longer while we think something is being done about it.

After getting many escalation calls that they know leads to nothing, I think they probably won't be taking escalation anymore, since all it does it's tell us to wait 10 days just to receive an e-mail telling us to wait longer :(

Yea they have been instructed as of yesterday to stop escalating cases so no one is now aloud to do it anymore I am hoping by that though that maybe more people from the first lockdown period will start hearing back as no one can escalate so everyone is where they are in line I guess?

I dont know just trying with little hope to remain positive so I am not miserable all the time because I dont want my daughters seeing me so down all the time

Don't worry, our time will come.

Try to stay busy with other things and spend time with your daughters and not think too much about it. We are waiting for months now, but we are legal here and we have our family with us.

I think the wait it is a lot harder when you are out of the country and separated from your family.  So also try to think on the bright side of things.
Plus we waited for so long now, it must mean that we are getting closer and closer.

I am trying to not expect anything because things for me usually happen when I am less expecting them, the fact that I keep refreshing my e-mail page is not helping haha ;D

Also think about the fact that you are not alone. Me and other people are in similar situation, so surely is not our fault in any way as we did what needed to be done.

Stay safe and close to your family  ;)

I firmly believe that ringing them up and trying to escalate the application will not help. Like I mentioned before, if you don't have someone on the inside that can help, you won't get far.

Have you tried contacting your local MP? I also believe they will just get the standard response as well, not sure how much influence an MP has or can have on escalating things.

Stay positive and strong, don't make yourself ill over this stressful situation. Keep busy and hopefully you will hear back soon.

HURRAH! Just got the approval email!!!!

It's been 6 3/4 months since our application date of April 15, and 10 weeks + 3 days since our biometrics/app date of August 25.
The approval letter opens with the line "On April 15, you submitted an application..." I don't know why I was surprised they had the original application date right. (Maybe it has to do with the LONG approval time?!?)
In any event - we got it!

Thanks all for your ongoing support and I sincerely hope there are more approvals soon....
And, hang in there fellow long-timers! x

So happy for another approval!

I got my "satisfaction survey" from UKVI today. Needless to say I marked everything as poor and told them they need to sort it out, and agreed to take part in more research if needed.
