The only difference is that you need to be much more thorough for the unmarried partner visa, because you need to show 24 consecutive months of legally living together, immediately prior to the application.

But for a spousal visa, there's no requirement to have lived together at all...so if you haven't, you provide evidence that you communicate regularly, and if you have lived together, you only need to provide a couple of documents per year.

Got the UKVI documents received confirmation today so I guess now my countdown can officially begin. Let's hope it doesn't take the full 12 weeks, but processing does seem to be taking close to it. Let's hope the end of February flurries continue for those waiting.

I was looking at UPS website with my tracking number and it shows the documents are picked up on 02/22/2018 4:14 P.M and the scheduled delivery on Monday, 02/26/2018 , By End of Day.
That was a surprise to me because I have not received Decision made email after I sent my Courier Account Number. Thank God. Count down starts now.

UPS do not have Saturday or Sunday delivery?

No, UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays or Sundays. You might be able to call them and have it changed to Saturday delivery, but it will likely cost between $16-30 to do this (I'm not sure of the actual rate, we have to do this at work sometimes but we have business rates) if they can even change the delivery to that.

It's very interesting that you did not get an email letting you know that a decision has been made. Exciting that it's on its way, though. Good luck!

They have been pretty efficient for a long time with the decision made emails but it used to be quire common not to receive one!

Yes. In hindsight thank god we opened a joint bank account when we moved in together in 2014 for the purpose of shared expenses like rent, utilities, groceries. At that time we have’t given any thought to moving to the UK yet so it was purely coincidental. Otherwise it would have been difficult to come up with documentation to prove our living together.
