I live in West Wales and found American food at Waitrose in Abergaveny and also James Howell Dept store in Cardiff. They have things like Brownie mixes, A-1 sauce, hamburger dill pickles, cake mixes and frostings, fruit by the foot, and of course lots of Oreo products. They also sell Mazetta pepperoncini's (soo good on Italian subs back home) I usually buy most of my American groceries on line with SkyCo. They used to stock a lot more than they do now. Does anyone else know where to get American food in Wales?

Hi, when shopping with my Australian fiance for Nappy San (don't ask!!), we discovered you can also buy North American food (not just Australian stuff!) at this place: Australia Shop, 27 Maiden Lane, Covent Garden.

Last time I was there, they had the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese kits, etc.  It's mostly geared towards Canadians, but a lot of food you can buy in Canada you can buy in the USA, etc.

The shop is located across the street from a cool bar called The Porterhouse, and it's next door to La Perla, a pretty decent Mexican restaurant (though nothing compared to the real stuff back in Texas!) so you could spend a whole evening in the area!

Yes, £6.99 per container and he doesn't blink an eye (bought three in one go last time we were there!)

We must scour the aisles of Wilkinson (as we don't have a decent sized Tesco nearby), sounds like we're paying 4+ times what we should!!!

H2B uses it for his dress shirts, we don't use it on actual nappies, so we don't go through great volumes of it but still, sounds like we could pay a whole lot less - thanks again for the advice!!!

The Australia shop in Covent Garden... I love that shop! Can't get enough of A&W rootbeer! Prices are pretty good too, there is an American candy shop also in CG, but the stuff is completely overpriced. If you can, check out Skyco.com.

Fritos, MUST HAVE plain, ordinary Fritos!  Any tips in the UK for mail order or in the London area?
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter what road you take.

FYI- In the next few weeks or so I'll be setting up my own home business selling american sweets and american food items. I'll be getting a shipment in every month full of things,so if anyone wants to add something to the order, let me know.

When I lived in the states, I normally shopped at Whole Foods.  I know there are about 4 Whole Foods locations in London.  (lucky Londoners)  But, I don't think they sell Velveta and cool whip...sorry.

To save me reading the whole post, can anybody please tell me where I can find some A1 sauce for hubby!  I saw it on a link somewhere, but by the time you pay postage on it, it would work out at about £9 a 5oz bottle  :o

I'm in the Midlands so if anybody can point me in the right direction for American food, that would be great!  It's hubby's birthday this Sunday and to hand him a hamper of American food would be one of the best presents for him  ;D

Thanks.

How funny Ruby, my husband was looking for A1 this weekend as well!! He reckons he's seen it somewhere in the UK but couldn't remember where. But he found HP American Burger sauce to be a good substitute.  Have you tried skyco?
