All 3 grocery stores in my area (Tesco, Sainsbury's and SuperValu) have stopped stocking the Kikkoman marinade in the last month  :(

None of the stores have store brand alternatives either.

Good to know, as my local Sainsburys seems to have stopped stocking any Kikkoman stuff.  Are you talking about the teriyaki sauce (thicker) or the marinade?  It's the marinade I like but I call it sauce.  Do you know of anyplace that has Kikkoman Tonkatsu Sauce?

I seem to recall seeing Kikkoman stocked in Waitrose.

Has anyone else here tried the Discovery Refried Beans?

I just bought some but haven't tried them yet.  I was in London yesterday and went to Whole Foods and they had tomatillos, so I am happy.

I have. They're tollerable. They're not hard to make either.

I don't 'do' refried beans...here is what I do:  heat up tin(s) of pinto beans & spice them up however you like.  Sometimes I saute a bit of onion & garlic then toss the beans in.  Most times (cos I'm lazy), I just toss the beans in a pan and add a spoonful of this crushed chipotle flakes in vinegar stuff that I buy at Morrisons.  I let 'em cook quite awhile until the beans are nice & soft/squishy - similar texture to refried without the 'fried' bit.  Easy & delicious & arguably healthier.  :)

Thanks all.

Old El Paso and I are not on good terms. I do not want to really issue a critique as it may have been a stomach virus or something unrelated. Suffice it to say I nealt late one night and shouted like Kirk at Khan,,,"Old El Passsssssssoooooooo!!!!!"

Talk about bizarre finds! We were in Birmingham on Friday and of course I dragged hubby over to Selfridge's to see if there was anything I craved enough to pay outrageous prices for (there wasn't).  Then we went to TK Maxx (at the Bullring) and I found...

Marshmallow Fluff!!!!!! Regular AND Strawberry in the glass jars!  For £1.99 each!  ;D  Way cheaper than Selfridge's or my local American Imports stall.

Can I get hot cheetos in England? I am heading to London, Brighton, and Colchester this Christmas/New Year. I can't get them here in Tokyo anymore, haven't been home to America in ages and I'm really missing them! Hoping they're somewhere around  ;D
An American. With an English fiance. Living and working in Tokyo since 2007. Getting hitched in October 2010. Still haven't decided where to settle down- America or England? Fun, fun, fun!

Sorry, no Cheetos here. They do have a product here with a similar texture called Nik Naks, and they have a hot and spicy flavour. Though, to be fair, they really aren't like the hot Cheetos, as they have no cheese on them, just a bit of a spicy/vinegary sort of flavour (and not nearly as hot). You might be able to order them from one of the American foods suppliers online, though.
