Those look gorgeous, CB! I was planning on baking a red velvet cake for Christmas Eve, and then doing a maple cheesecake for Christmas day pudding (we were going to DSS's mum's house for xmas eve, so I was planning to leave the red velvet cake with her.) But with the road conditions, and more snow coming down, I'm now trying to decide between the two, as I don't think I should make both for just us.  :-\\\\ I've got all the ingredients for both already. Decisions, decisions! I think the red velvet cake would look more festive (and DH has never had one, so it would be different) but we both love cheesecake and we both love maple syrup. Hmmm.

Maple cheesecake sounds yum!!! I just made some Russian Tea Cakes (Betty Crocker recipe) and a sour cream apple pie. The sour cream makes the apple pie moister. I've given up on diets until the New Year.

I used the recipe from brown eyed baker but made loads of subs, it's adapted from Hummingbird bakery, they were the best cupcakes I've ever made, I was really proud of them, hence photo! :)

I subbed -
Self Raising flour for All purpose
White wine vinegar for white vingear (couldn't be bothered to go to shop)
A mix of Fage 0% greek yoghurt/milk for buttermilk.

and I made vanilla frosting not cream cheese because couldn't be bothered to go to shops :)

Those seem so good and I now have a craving for them.  Mmmmm

The last thing I baked were some chocolate cake bites.  Basically, it's a Nigella Lawson recipe for a dense chocolate loaf cake and I make them into little cake bites by putting them into mini cupcake papers using a mini cupcake/muffin tin.  I also sometimes add Amaretti cookies crushed into the mix and on top or I've even tried it with peanut butter.

Chocolate chip cookies and a pumpkin pie.  Still some bread and more cookies to do.

Just before Thanksgiving I decided I'd start making sourdough stuff.  The most recent offering from this was soft pretzels!  They turned out pretty good.

I think I'll make them again later this week.

Peanut butter snickers muffins for my DF's birthday. Next is a peanut butter chocolate cheesecake (picked out by my DF) for my FFiL's birthday.

Chocolate banana bread for the family. (Me personally, I can't stand banana bread which meant I wasn't tempted by it! Yay!)
Let them eat cupcakes!

I intend to make chocolate chocolate chip and white chocolate chip cookies with dried cranberries. If I don't lose the will to live by the end of the work day that is!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
