DW made Philadelphia-style soft pretzels for the Superbowl paty and they were awesome!
Cool!  I miss soft pretzels.

Yeah, but there's soft pretzels, and then there's Philly soft pretzels!  Straight from the vendor on the street with mustard and that unique taste from being made with Philly water!  :D

Apple pie from scratch  ;D  used the Be-Ro shortcrust pastry recipe for the crust and completely winged it on the filling and it was yummy!

And they didn't have any mustard at the ones in Leeds!

I was in a rare baking mood today, so I made Cowboy Cookies with Hershey's Special Dark chocolate. I added some cinnamon to the cookie dough, too. :)

Bread  :D This was my first loaf of the new year (my DF's version of being on a diet includes swearing off bread and then repeatedly asking me if I'm going to bake a loaf).

Shortbread-I used a heart shaped cutter as I thought the girls would get a kick out of it.

Some individual heart-shaped victoria sponges for me and the children (hubby's away at present).  Had to cheer myself up somehow and cake seemed to be the obvious answer!! ;)

Hi all,

First time posting on this thread. Just got my ILR yesterday.

On Friday-I baked some goodies for hubby's birthday:

Banana Pecan muffins
Banana white chocolate chip muffins
Banana blueberry muffins

(Had to do something with those bananas!)

Cheers!

Tonight I'm making Nigel Slater's brownies for one friend's birthday and on Sunday I'll be making black bottoms for another friend's birthday.

Cornbread, for the first time.  It came out really good--for a dessert!  It looked great, was moist, but way too sweet!  To have as a side with chili the sugar has got to be toned way down!  The recipe called for 1/4 cup honey and 1/4 cup sugar.  I think next time I'll just put 1/8 cup of honey and sugar combined.
