We did try their pizzas they have in the refridgerated section. I didn't think they were too bad but DH said not to get them again. He didn't care for them.

Has anyone tried any of the pizzas at Lidl? Any good? What about their canned tuna?

We have had the cheese and tomato pizza from the refridgerated case and thought it was good.  Same with the frozen veggie pizza.
Haven't tried the tuna but we buy a bunch of their tinned fish (herring, mackerel, and sardines).  Our girls love them for breakfast with a bit of toast.
Yes, we do eat a bit odd.   :P

Depends on the pizza - they have about 5 different kinds!  We like the 3-in-a-box "salami" ones.  They're usually about £2.65 or something like that.  Thin crust and very yummy.

They also have smaller individual square ones, and baugette-style ones.  They also carry "American-style" ones in Hawaiian style and chicken.

Each one carries different ones, too.  Because the one we usually go to in Maidstone almost always has the salami pizza we like.  But the one in Gravesend didn't carry it when we went there.

I finally went to a Lidl today. To me, it seems similar to the Aldi but with more recognizable brands. I bought 2 cans of kidney beans, 3 huge sweet potatoes, a big avocado, a largish package of fresh mushrooms, 2 tubs of ready made refrigerated soup and some lemon juice. I only spent £4.04. :)

I also saw aluminum US post boxes. The kind everyone has in rural areas with the red flags. They looked exactly like the real deal, even saying US Post Office approved (or whatever they say) on the front. The side of the box said something like "give your house an American feel with this post box kit". £13! ;D

Let me know if you want me to pick one up for you. They seemed to have plenty.  :)

Thanks, C! But I'll hold off - maybe they'll turn up at my Lidl someday.  ;D

went to Lidl today, but they had no mailboxes.  :(

However, they did have the most outrageously good individual peppered & smoked salmon fillets - i had one for my lunch today and will need to go back and buy more cos they are the perfect size and well-packaged for taking to work.

And they had some gorgeous little packs (8 cookies) of round lebkuchen mit schokolade -- gingerbread with chocolate on the bottom and a grainy-sugar glaze on top.  OMG... they're amazing!

Hubby saw a casio keyboard in our local Lidls this past Saturday for £79.  We have been wanting to get the girls one for Christmas, so the inlaws are going to check today to see if they are still in stock.
Q-G, if you like trout, try the smoked trout in the chilled section.  Almost as good as the salmon.   :)

I've had those!! Lovely!

I'm also quite partial to the baumkuchen-spitzen, little triangles of sponge cake with orange liqueur, coated in chocolate! Mmmmm....

I have now officially barred myself from going into Lidl's with my debit card.  Far too many treats, and I have been spending waaay too much there.  Cash only from now until after Christmas.

The dark chocolate circles with the tiny sprinkles are my kids favorite at the moment.  I had one (for parental quality control reasons) and have to say they are quite nice.

Damn all this extra weight!
