It definitely has it's uncomfortable moments, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how well written, and beautifully acted it is, with A LOT of humor!
Not a film I would choose to go see, but because it was a SAG screening I did, and am glad for it!  So maybe steel yourself a little, but it's more enjoyable and lovely than it is violent and unpleasant!

I just saw Gran Torino last night, and I agree.  It's an excellent movie, and a lot funnier than I expected.

Watchmen was ace. It is very long but they did have to put 12 books worth into the film and I loved loved loved how they kept it very close to the book with some minor changes.

I particularly loved the beginning opening sequence when it shows you the back history of all the previous watchmen and what happened to them. Brilliant film.

Just saw "Two Lovers" over the weekend, we really liked it.

Even though it has Hollywood stars in it, it felt like a small indie film.

I saw Duplicity and I Love You, Man over the weekend. Duplicity was ok, but all the good Owen/Roberts chemistry was in the preview, and the plot was a bit convoluted. I wanted Oceans 11 but instead was a bit disappointed. I Love You, Man was hilarious! I love that type of honest, Paul Rudd/Judd Apatow humor (like Knocked Up), and it didn't disappoint.

A lot of it filmed at the Mall in Burlington, MA.  It was early spring and they had it set up with Christmas decorations!

"The Knowing"

Nicholas Cage film - The special effects are excellent and the concept is very clever.

We saw "The Boat that Rocked" last weekend.  Any amusing bits are all in the commercials.  It was unfocused, too long and unfunny.  The sound track is the best thing about the movie.
