It was fun on Monday. It's far less fun now.
My thoughts exactly!! I've got a hospital appointment at 9:15 tomorrow morning and if the trains and buses are out again like they were on Monday, I'm going to be in trouble...
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London
99-00 - studied at Uni of Sussex on exchange
Feb 02 - moved to London on BUNAC
Sep 02 - WP granted (IT skills shortage list)
Sep 04 - WP renewed
Sep 06 - WP renewed again (screwed by 4-5 year ILR change)
Sep 07 - ILR!
March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!

Still extremely cold, but not a flake of snow, thankfully.

Absolutely!  I'd rather my postie be safe now that I think about it.  I'm OK without mail for a bit :)

See, I'd prefer if we weren't getting post simply because I wouldn't worry about my postie falling on my property and suing me!

Seriously, I have no idea how you do it.

The first couple months aren't bad.  By February, though, I'm SO ready for it to be gone!  Although, this year I'd be a lot happier if the temp would get above freezing!  We've only had 3 days above 32F/0C in the past two months!!

It's spitting very cold rain/a tiny bit of sleet.  I was not amused while trying to drive home.  I'm so done with this weather!

More snow in Northants and quite heavy at that.  I thought I would be able to get my car out; but, it is a no go. If I had a shovel or grit, I would be fine...

loads of cars were getting stuck in the snow in front of our house last night- including an ambulance and police car!  Yikes. I'm with other people, I'm totally over the snow- wish it would just go away!

When I returned from Wisconsin last February and brought all my snowy photos with me to work, a couple of my co-workers were quite envious of how beautiful it was and 'wish it would snow like that here!!'  You should hear 'em bitchin' now!

In other weather related news, due to an EXTREMELY fast labour and the inability of an ambulance to get there THAT fast, my husband's brother delivered his baby boy yesterday morning at 3:00!  My SIL was due tomorrow, haven't seen them yet, although mum and baby spent last night in hospital, just to make sure mum was ok!

He did, with the aid of a midwife by telephone!  And, yes, all good, mother and baby fine, dad doing ok too, although I suppose he needed a bit of a sit down after that!!

New family joke - my DH is a nurse, but his brother delivers babies!

It's road chaos here in Bristol - we had more snow overnight and so the traffic is crazy. All the buses have been cancelled again (so I can't go to work again) and every single school in Bath and NE Somerset and South Gloucestershire is closed, with only a handful open in Bristol! The roads are being described as 'treacherous' with several main roads being closed completely and everyone is being advised to stay at home unless absolutely necessary!

Sigh. I'm even sick of writing about it now.  ;)

We had no snow at all overnight. A massive clap of thunder woke me up at 6, I looked out, and... DRY. Nothing! Hoorah! I laid down again for a half hour, got up to get in the shower and... at least 2 inches. In a HALF HOUR.

So here I am with my papers spread out on my dining room table AGAIN. And to add insult to injury I can't seem to get the remote server to respond (it worked at 7 and then quit and I haven't been able to get back on since) so I can't even use email.  >:(

Yeah, it snowed more here yesterday through the day - but a lighter, drier kind of snow, which then settled on top of the previous snow/slush/ice.  The snow had stopped by the time I got off work.  As far as I can tell, we're back to business as usual in Leeds though - although they aren't emptying the bins this week.

Not sure what today is supposed to bring.

I hate it though.  I've been ready for spring since, oh, last summer (the summer that never was). :-\\\\
