IA:  DH & I both thought it was Saturday when we first woke up this morning, but alas, it's only Friday.

UP:  Friday is great for me & I need it to get ready for tomorrow.

IA:  Not so great for DH because he had to go to work.  Poor DH.

UP: I got to have my first shower in a week at the gym today (ours is broken so I've had to use the bath).
IA: The water was lukewarm at it's hottest, when usually it's nice and toasty. :(

Where I grew up there was a drive in movie theatre and we always went to that - it was the only way we were able to see films as kids because it was cheap- 2 films, bring your own food, pay by the carload.

UP: Its still alive and kicking and being supported by the locals. Nice to see a drive in theatre still going -with blockbuster movies too!

IA: My sister posting pictures about going to the drive in last night!!  I'm jealous that she gets to go to the drive-in and that its also warm enough there to sit outside and watch a movie!  :P
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

UP: BF's family seems quite nice. :)

IA: BF is crap at introductions so I've been frantically trying to learn/remember everyone's names and not looking like an idiot.

IA2: Slept like crap last night, so that's 2 nights in a row that I'm short on sleep. Not guaranteed to make me a thrilling social companion.

Dont worry about names - be light about it...Say it will take me time to remember everyones names.  I think when introduced fast to everyone you just say I hope there isn't a quiz on this later ;-)  Glad they were nice and it went well! Now you get your own bed back.

Yeah, I don't think anyone really minds, but it bugs me just the same. ;)

One more night/day here and then back home. Don't think the bed's at fault (though sofa beds aren't the most comfortable), just bad sleep in general. Only 7 more weeks until my surgery, which should help with that. :)

Yep, finally got booked in. :) Hoping being on the short-notice cancellation list might bump me up a bit, but that's probably a longshot.

IA:  Our living room ceiling light fixture went faulty a week or two ago & when DH was investigating the problem (not the bulb) a piece of it bust off.

UP:  So yesterday he was back & forth to Homebase to get a new fixture, some teensy screwdrivers, electronic testing kit, etc to DIY it safely.

IA:  Took him quite awhile yesterday to put the new fixture on, figure out how to attach the wires (old house, old connections) & get the light working again.

UP:  He got the light fixture working again - yay!

IA:  Except we discovered it was then connected up to the same wires that also light our front door entrance light fixture.

UP:  So he's been back at it again & finally got it sorted - only one fixture to each switch now - yay!

IA:  He's decided that our home must have been wired by a madman.  :-X

UP:  Someone is reading a new blog I started for fun just to throw thoughts into the universe.

IA:  Someone important is reading it and commenting.  Eeeeek!  Wish I would think more before posting!

UP:  Intellectual debate (well, pseudo-intellectual from me at best) for the win!

Mrs. R's DIY saga reminded me:

UP: DH decided to paint the ceiling in the back hall ...

IA: He's totally alone in the house and probably shouldn't be climbing ladders anyway

UP: Noticed old wires and box from ancient door bell so pulled them all out

IA: Suddenly realized they were the telephone wires!!

UP: Managed to cobble them together again ... so phone is working

IA: Noticed ceiling plaster is not just heavily stained but also loose so replastered it and now has to wait for plaster to dry ...
