I'm not a fan of X Factor and gave up watching after Steve Brookstein won but then got dumped by Simon. Just by chance I saw Danyls audition and was sold. Loved everything about him.  I skipped all the other crap and tuned in to watch him the other weekend singing one of my all time favs "And I am telling you".  He did an ok job of it although I would have loved to have kicked what's her names a** for the stupid comment, but what I don't get are all the comments about him being over confident and cocky?????  What gives with these people?  It's him, it's his style and one of the reasons I find him appealing.

Anyway, I usually catch up with his act on YouTube if I miss the show and really have no time for the others and other than the irritating twins and Stacy, couldn't name or recognise anyone else.

I'm not sure I see it either. But I'm not a fan for other reasons - I wish he'd just sing a song instead of going nuts with all the shouting and theatrics. The melody always gets totally lost. Seems like a lot of singers do that and it bugs the hell out of me.

This is why I don't like him.  And does the camera HAVE to close in on his mouth every time he's got a big note?  This isn't his fault of course, but on last week's show I couldn't help noticing that he's got a filling in his upper left molar, and that's more information than I need to know about anyone, much less someone I've never met.  Back off, camera crew.

LOL! At least you couldn't see that he had spinach for dinner.  ;)

Not that you can believe everything you read :P, but from what I've read, the thing about him being cocky is coming from how he behaves off camera..when in the house and around the other contestants. But I just don't like him for other reasons.

Hehe :P Sorry..just been really busy and haven't had much time to post.

I didn't think any of them did fantastic in the last show. I hate (and always have hated) theme weeks. Making everybody do a "diva" song is ridiculous in my opinion. I kept zoning out during the show because it bored me to tears.

Right now it's so early on that it doesn't really matter who goes. Rikki was going to go sooner or later anyway...it was inevitable. I didn't think Rachel was good at all this week (very off key) so I figure she'll finally go next week. I think it will be between her and Miss Frank next week. The twins are annoying but goofy and weird enough to have the Chico factor and get that type of vote.

I think Joe has a beautiful singing voice and is gorgeous to look at but I don't think he has that umph that people are looking for. Just seems like something is missing. :-\\\\

I went off Jamie last week but this week liked him a bit more. :)

If that's the case he better watch himself....would be a shame if that messed up his chances.

I think Joe is great, but I can't think of him as gorgeous as he looks so much like these lesbian friends of mine (twins). He could be their long lost brother! Everytime DH and I see him, we make jokes about it. So I guess, in my mind, he looks like a lesbian.  :-X But he is cute (just like my friends... lol) and has a great voice. I hope he sticks around a while longer. I think those with the stronger personality types may have a better chance, though, like Stacy. Joe seems pretty quiet. I hope he starts putting himself out there a bit more so people will like him more.

[smiley=laugh4.gif] Thanks, Jewlz. I was taking a drink of coffee when I read that and almost spewed it everywhere.

I think he's very pretty...kinda like a china doll.

Well, the lesbian twins are cute, too, so there you go! I think they are a bit boyish, and he is a bit girly, so it all comes together. The three of them have the exact same haircut, big brown eyes, and really do look so much alike in the face, as well - their smiles are all similar. They are the androgenous triplets!  :P

I had it in the back ground tonight and was in and out of the room.  Caught Danyl, whom I'm rooting for. That Rachel girl needs to get a flipin grip.  Remember the Solomon girl can't remember her first name...loved the dress.  Don't know the name of the gal who sang My Funny Valentine, but it's one of my favorite standards and sang along wit her.  The three girls, who sang ... oh gosh I can't remember the song were quite good.

Still rooting for Danyl, something about him reminds me of my brother, besides, he's got what it takes.  I have a blog and have blogged about him and get so many people from all over the world but mainly USA and Canada doing a search on him, so I know he's got cross over appeal in North America.

I thought Rachel was great last night... but the hysteria she gave off after her performance was seriously OTT, and will really hurt her this week, I think. It was very fake. I know she is just trying hard to have more personality like Stacey so people would vote for her, and I feel kind of sorry for her for trying so hard because I think it will hurt her in the end after what was a good performance.

I don't like Big Band week, really. I think its pretty silly to try to confine everyone to singing these old crooner songs. I was glad Jamie did something "out of the box" just because I'm not a Sinatra fan and get sick of hearing the same songs.  ::) I liked his performance. Also, Tina Turner is not big band, and My Funny Valentine is actually a jazz song, in my opinion (and I have always loved that song, I thought Lucie did well.) I thought Stacey looked stunning, but wasn't crazy about the song, I nearly fell asleep. I love Joe, but this wasn't a good week for him, in my opinion. Lloyd was just crap. Olly was ok, but again, I was kind of bored, since the style of music doesn't really do it for me. Miss Frank was ok. I think the rap was kind of silly, actually, in that song. But I guess other people like it.

Danyl was great, though I wonder if Simon will ever give him a song that isn't a diva song. It's starting to get annoying. He does well with the songs he is given, but hearing him sing a song that doesn't remind me of a diva would be nice.

The twins were fun to watch, actually. Their singing isn't great, for certain, but at least I didn't want to fall asleep when they were performing, which is worth something.

Really think Rachel might go this week, after that ridiculous babbling nonsense after her performance. (Even Dermot said "You haven't won yet!" LOL) If she ends up on the bottom 2 again, they should really get rid of her, IMO.

I don't know why they even call it Big Band, you're right Jewls, half the songs were other genres. I didn't think anyone was that great this week.

I know! Just because they are singing with a large band / orchestra doesn't mean they have to sing Sinatra. That's not even big band! Big Band is stuff like the Glen Miller Orchestra. I think swing (or even ska!) would be closer to big band than Sinatra. It's just silly.
