Yes, I read it last year.  I think I remember I liked it, but I found it difficult to get into and a bit tough to follow.  It was alright though.

I should have known you'd have read at least one of those!  :P ;D

I'm reading A Woman of Independent Means by Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey. It's not half as good as I thought it was when I read it at 16 - in fact, I'm starting to actively despise the main character.

I'm starting Breaking Dawn tonight.  Then it's back to more serious stuff. ;)

Echoes by Maeve Binchy

Have you read anything by her before?  I see her books everywhere, but don't know much about her.
On s'envolera du même quai
Les yeux dans les mêmes reflets,
Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

Just Circle of Friends, which I loved. So far Echoes is great.

Just picked up Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie for my new book club.

I failed at this. I didn't even make it to page 100.  :-\\\\

Now I'm reading Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh.

Now I'm reading Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh.

I randomly picked this up a couple of years ago in Hye and really liked it!

Rereading The Confederacy of Dunces. On of my all-time favs.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

You're not alone.  I find Salman Rushdie impenetrable.

I finished "The Kite Runner," it was good- but not the work of genius I was told that it was by a friend.

Now on "How to be Good" by Nick Hornsby.  Cute.

The Ongoing Moment by Geoff Dyer. Next up Novel About My Wife by Emily Perkins. I'm going to really try not to fall off of the reading bandwagon again....

I really dislike Rushdie.  I know I shouldn't, but I do.  :-\\\\

I love Nick Hornby, but I had a really hard time getting through that one.  Not my favorite.  :-\\\\

That's me and Steinbeck.
