I had my NCS appointment today.

They sent it out this afternoon and said it should be there tomorrow.

I'm applying based on three years marriage to a UKC and ILR.

Applied through NCS: 15 Sept 2015

The waiting game begins.....

Biometrics done 25 June, approval letter dated 11 September, ceremony 6 October.  :)

does anyone have an idea on how long it takes to get the passport in hand after the ceremony?
and how or when do you do the interview for the passport ? after you send the passport application ? or after the ceremony?

I submitted my passport application the day after the ceremony; interview was the following week (could have been 2 days earlier, but I had a conflict) and passport was in my hands 3 days after the interview.

I would recommend that you go to the post office and pick up 2 or 3 copies of the application and fill it out. Amazing how easy it is to make a simple mistake, and have to start over. Getting the signature within the box is often the challenge!
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Money was taken out of my account this morning.

A few hours later, I got an email saying my application has been received and giving me my case ID number.

It says nothing about biometrics, so I'm guessing that will come in the post.

It sounds like others have received the confirmation of receipt in the post. Has anyone else gotten it as an email?

Basis: Married to UKC, 3+ years in the UK with ILR (old rules)
Applied through NCS: 15 Sept 2015
Money taken from account: 30 Sept 2015
Email confirming receipt: 30 Sept 2015

It looks like I'm just a week behind you, Gwen. :D

I'll keep an eye on the post for the biometrics letter.

If you apply through your council's NCS, they'll make copies and you'll walk away with your originals, including your passport. Well worth the £50-60 if you can manage it.

I've already posted them off, just wondering if they keep the documents the whole time, or if they take copies and return them..

So you have to make a special request to have the documents returned and it doesn't stop the application?
