unfortunately my brain is too tangled to knit but I've started baking again.

Might even tackle that cross stitch and try to start the gym again (not sure baking and the gym quite work together lol)

I always find stress makes me more creative or crazy  :D

What are you going to bake us today? I tried to add 'and cake' to the thread title but the modifying window has passed! Probably just about used up all the letters anyway Lol. People will just have to sing their way into the thread to discover the cake!

Ok - think I'm about caught up now! My water butt tap was open so all the lovely rain was very effectively diverted through the water butt snd out into the ground  ::)

They let me out in time to go home, but there are no windows down there so I didn't know it was raining* and got soaked on the way home.

*before anyone says I should know better, it doesn't rain here all the time! It was sunny one day last week.

Haha! Well I'm currently experimenting with rainbow cakes for my best friends 25th birthday but I can't decide if I should leave all the layers vanilla or flavour them differently. No treadmills today though, we have sunshine in the UK so I'm trying to savour it  ;D

No coworkers in yet to sing to. . .

I had every intention of writing us a Beyonce parody last night, but I'm house-sitting at a place with apple TV, and Grey's Anatomy sucked me in.  :o

I keep seeing good omens like rainbows and puppies and thinking "maybe today!" and then not getting word... today I woke up to a cockroach in the kitchen sink (the things no one tells you about Southern California living :-X). Any guesses what that means? (Other than that my hosts probably need better pantry storage...)

Ha ha! I wrote in another thread about a good omen frog, dragonfly and double rainbow... Not sure what to make of the coakroach - eek! My wife lived in Southern Carolina for a short while. I think she said something about giant bugs there.

CharlieB - insert Beyonce rewrite here...

 ;)

Maybe those of us the UK side of the wait should pop to Sheffield with our origami Yoda's and sing for our loved ones visas! And bribe with rainbow cakes and pink toasters? I guess I'm running out of rational ideas Lol

The south has it far worse, for sure. One thing I WON'T miss in Scotland.

Ha! Good strategy on the wildflowers. I decided that the wildlife needed a good section of the border to be wild!

My friends had planters with flowers and herbs mixed in, so I've copied that (though following their advice to pot mint on its own and put rosemary into the border and I agree its lovely having fresh herbs to cook with.

Unfortunately, our only big enough (and sunny enough) window sill isn't long enough for a small planter, but I found a Buzzfeed video for mason jar herb planters. Which would mean that I could just clip and go.

We have a huge back garden... but there tend to be a lot of huge spiders back there. So I'm not planting there.... tis evil soil >.>

I have some herbs in pots on the back door steps. It's handy to the kitchen and it's quite attractive too.  :)

That could be an option. There's a little area covered by the storm drains so the herbs wouldn't get over watered. Cause apparently that's a thing. I killed my mom's basil plant that way...

I'd sent the husband out to get herbs though.

CharlieB - insert Beyonce rewrite here...

As promised... a rewrite of Beyonce's "Formation"

Y'all make me crazy with this 60 business day mess
Get my passport, catch my flight, pack my wedding dress
I'm so restless while I wait for my visa progress
I'm so darn anxious so I track the business process
My eyes are on the tracka’, in case that moves it fasta’
From San Diego back to Glasgow soon as I can pack-a’
I like my builder’s tea made with PGs from Tescos
I like my Eggheads or Crystal Maze for game shows
Paid all this money but I still don’t think the country want me
I want a visa in my hand, swag

I see it, I want it
I track, yeah, I wait for it
I dream it, I work hard
Apply 'til I own it
I twirl on them haters
Those visa regulators
In a Rover, down in Dover
Sippin' Tetley’s with no chaser
Sometimes I get sad, I get sad
I feel far, I feel far
From what's mine, from what's mine
Hurts my heart, hurts my heart
But I’ll wait, wait
I’ll wait, hey, I’ll wait, okay
I’ll wait, okay, all day, okay
I’ll wait, okay, I’ll wait okay
We gon' wait, wait
Gon' wait, okay
We wait, okay
I’ll wait, okay
I’ll wait, okay
Okay, okay, I’ll wait, okay
Okay, okay, okay, okay
Okay, okay, people, now let's get immigrated, 'cause I’ll wait
Okay people, now let's get immigrated, 'cause I’ll wait
Prove to me you got some verification, 'cause I’ll wait
Pay up, or you get eliminated

When they stamp my book I’ll run right down to the altar, 'cause I wait
When they stamp my book I’ll run right down to the altar, 'cause I wait
If it ships in time, I might take him on a trip to Gibralter, 'cause I wait
Drop me off at the gate, let me check my case, let me fly out, 'cause I wait
When I get my papers, should be worth the frustration, 'cause I wait
When I get my papers, should be worth the frustration, 'cause I wait
I just might see what Mary Berry is baking, 'cause I wait
I just might see what Mary Berry is baking

I see it, I want it
I track, yeah, I wait for it
I dream it, I work hard
Apply 'til I own it
I twirl on them haters

Okay people, now let's get immigrated
You know it’s worth it when you walk through immigration
Always stay hopeful, best result is your papers
