Was thinking of having my husband doing the same thing, but wasn't sure if it's been "long enough"? Is there a certain amount of time that you need to wait before contacting your MP?
Application submitted: December 25
Biometrics Complete: January 5
Documents sent: January 5 (priority)
Confirmation Email (after a slight panic attack inducing misstep from UPS): Jan 10
Decision Email: February 20
Passport returned: February 22 APPROVED!

I believe it's 15 business days before contacting home office about the application. So anything beyond that, regardless of whether its you or your MP contacting them, it's fine. That's how I understood it anyhow. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Technically it's 60 days.  Some MP's are willing to help before then, other are not.  The service standard is 60 business days, regardless of priority or non-priority.

Can't imagine waiting 60 days. 7 months has been difficult enough.

Does that mean there is nothing to “hold them to the fire” for no benefits from paying for priority. I mean I get that it puts you to the front of the line but how do we know?

On another note I haven’t seen anything on either thread (priority or non) was curious if there is a trend or anything for day of the week or time of day they normally send out decision emails? Any insights into why no one seems to be hearing anything? I figure I am grasping at straws but it’s so emotionally draining each day that goes by without a reply.

You are correct.  Priority gets you in front of the non-priority applications.  That's it.  All bets are off once the application has been assigned to an Entry Clearance Officer.

Decision emails do NOT come at a certain time of day.  BUT - UPS collects around 5pm UK time.  So for your sanity, you could just check your UPS tracking once at 7pm UK time and know if you'll have your visa in your hands in a couple of days.

Often there are "flurries" as we call them here.  No one will hear anything for some time and then all of a sudden, everyone hears in a very short time span.  Typically flurries happen at the end of a month.  Hopefully you all will have heard long before the end of the month though.  :)

I sent my docs on Feb. 2nd and I checked the ups tracking and they arrived in Sheffield at 9 am on the 5th. I haven’t received a confirmation email. I called the help line and was told they can’t do anything until 12 weeks have passed. I know it’s only been 2 days, but just curious if a confirmation email is always sent (the lady on the phone said it was a courtesy and not a given) and if so, how many days after receiving the package should I expect to get one. Thanks!

I received my e-mail that they'd received the documents that day I believe. But it's been said that e-mail doesn't always get sent, sometimes it slips through the cracks. But if the tracker shows the package was delivered then you're good to go. Good luck!

Ugh! I’m desperate for that email, it would make me feel like everything is moving along smoothly. Thanks for the reassurance.

we received our email over two weeks later. granted it was most likely the christmas holidays that stalled it, but still infuriating.

Please try not to worry. As long as your tracking confirmed that it has arrived, you know that they have it and that it will be processed.
