I just want to wish you the very best of luck! You're currently living out one of my biggest worries and I truly feel for you. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and best wishes going forward. It will all be worth it when it comes together!

Thank you so much @Dani1983 That is very very kind.

It really hurts a lot what has happened. We feel absolutely helpless and let down by irresponsible government decision, who will never be punished. I can imagine how you feel as well, having paid for the "Gold" service.

We don't want to be in stuck in the limbo for next 6-12 month just to get a fiance visa, so we decided to have our marriage registered now and then having a reception for our friends and family after I am in the UK...

So.... today there was a very bad day for me and my fiance...

Finally, I received an email from Sheffield with the refusal attached (for fiance visa). The grounds are absolutely unreasonable, and I don't know what really to do now...

So in total 43 business days...

Maximum suckage (sends the flying monkeys with cookies and instructions to fling poo per your orders)

No, because they will not see what date you requested until AFTER they pick it up to make a decision.

Almost the entire processing time is your application sitting in line waiting for someone to pick it up and look at it. While it is waiting in line, no one knows what travel date you put.

You’re only on business day 17 today... that’s well within normal processing times for the December applications.

However, if you put a travel date of March 15th, your visa will likely start somewhere between March 8th and March 15th, even if it is processed in January... they are supposed to honour the travel date, since you only have 30 days to enter and you requested that your visa should start on that date... though lately they have been making the visa valid starting 7 days before the date you put.

So it may well be the case that even if you get your visa in January, you won’t be able to move to the UK until March anyway because the visa won’t be valid until then.

Ideally you want to put the earliest possible date you know you will be able to travel to the UK within 30 days of. If that date passes before the visa is granted (which happens often) then it will just be made valid from when the decision is made or a few days later.

Thanks, fingers crossed I hear something soon, but it sounds like 17-18 business days isn't anything abnormal or to worry about at this point!

Wife received an email today saying they need 12 months of bank statements for me.

Already sent them 6 but they want the full 12. Going to email them across to them tonight.

I'm hoping the fact our case is open and they want a bit more info (which I can easily provide), means that our application should be approved soon!

Stay positive. Like you said, I would think since they want more info that you can provide thats a good thing. Fingers crossed all will work out with a small bump in the road.

Hopefully this means things are moving for you :).

How long have you been earning over £18,600 salary? If it was less than 6 months at the time of applying for the visa, it’s a requirement to provide 12 months of payslips and bank statements, to prove you earned at least £18,600 before tax during those 12 months.

If you have been earning £18,600 salary for at least 6 months at the time of application, then you only need to provide 6 months of payslips and bank statements.
