Just a (non-)update.

I applied for FLR(M) 29th March.
Received app invitation 21st August.
Submitted 22nd August.

I haven’t heard back from them yet about anything, so everyone don’t worry so much! My friggin March application is still hanging in the air...
Have you contacted your MP at all? Mine didn't reply. On reddit people are having job offers contingent on their renewals being approved in a certain time frame, I get denied interviews for not having valid right to work documents (they don't care its 3c leave and thousands are in this position). I'm so depressed and giving up hope.

I didn’t, unfortunately, so don’t have any experience with that. My situation is alright in that respect because I just work with my husband.

Please hang in there and don’t lose hope! I will post here as soon as I have any news.

I finally received my IDV invite email this evening at 19:15. I've decided against using the app to complete, and have instead booked a biometrics appointment at my local office for £139.00 on Thursday.

I have no idea whether it's faster through the app or face-2-face, or neither, but actually doing something makes me feel better, more proactive, and less anxious. So for my mental health, this is probably the best choice.

I've heard loads of those waiting from May and June have now received invites this evening, and I truly hope no one on here is left waiting now. Good luck all, will update  ;)
Entered U.K.: 29 December 2017

So sorry if this sounds like a stupid question was just reading through a lot of these and I am about to submit my application this week ..and I know you have to scan all your documents after you submit it ..  when scanning all the documents in , is  there folders to organise them ? Or different sections .. is it a pain to do ? I have been going back and forth with using the app Or the scanning service .. if I can reuse my biometrics .. is the app trustworthy? any insight would be amazing and thank you all in advance 😊

There are a number of sections for your documents to be uploaded into, and there are a few sections you do not need to use. I arranged your document list into each upload section for you the other day (the bolded titles are the names of each section).

It's here in this post:

It's probably too soon to tell how well the app works since people have only been able to use it for the last couple of weeks and everyone who has used it so far is still waiting for their visa to be processed.

You have 3 options for uploading the documents:
If you use the app, you can either:
- upload your documents to the UKVCAS website at any time after submitting the online application, while you're waiting to be invited for the app/to make a biometrics appointment
or
- upload your documents to the app when you are invited to use it

If you attend a biometrics appointment:
- you can pay £50 for the scanning service and they will upload the documents for you.

However, it looks like there are no free appointments for at least 2-3 months, so if you attend biometrics, be prepared to pay £110 for the appointment plus £50 for document scanning (plus another £45 if you want the document checking service).

Good morning Ksand ,

I have all my documents in the folders you have giving me and thank you for that as I know mine were all over the place 😊

There’s deff some options to think about .. hopefully that things are starting to reopen slowly things pick up speed a bit though I know mine won’t be anytime soon

Are the appointments 1st come 1st serve or do they go back submissions dates ?

Thank you again 😊

Thank you again

You can only schedule once you're invited to the app, or told your biometrics can't be reused. So it essentially is in order of application date, but local availability will vary and as mentioned there are no free appointments for quite a while.

Just chiming in with my dates if this is of use to others... I submitted my extension application on 25 Jul. Received the app eligibility email on 5 Aug and didn’t opt out by the 5pm deadline on the 10 Aug.

Received my IDV App invite yesterday evening, 9 Sep and submitted my selfie & passport photo this morning. As others have noted, all the documents previously uploaded to the UKVCAS website appeared in the docs tab of the app.

Hang in there everyone! They’ve missed their 7 Sep estimate but not by much. Hopefully those with August applications will start seeing invitations roll in this week.

I've just got the email saying I can log into my UKVCAS account and there is a section for the app where all instructions can be found on how to use the app. I guess that's my invite sorted.

I'm going to test this out tomorrow now, it's been a long day and I need a rest. I'll let you all know how I get on.

August 19th 2020 is when I submitted my application.

Email subject line was: Invitation to use the new UKVCAS IDV app

I've just been looking around the app and when it comes to taking a picture of the travel document, which one did people use?

If I was to take a picture of my wife's Pakistani passport, which page(s) do I take a picture of?

If I was to take a picture of only her BRP card, do I take only a picture of the front of the card? Or do I need to take one of the back? And then which category does it come under?

Nearly there with this & want to get this last stage done ASAP.

Also when it comes to a selfie, does the background have to be white? Or does it not matter just as long as their sufficient lighting & the selfie is of good quality?

I’m afraid I can’t really help because my knowledge of the app is only what you guys have been posting here on the forum.

I think I’ve seen people mention that the travel document you use is the BRP?
