That's the one!  Well we like it, but one of Steve's friends who also lives here in town didn't like it (but I don't know why not).  We've gone twice - once on Wednesday & once on Sunday, because they do that special on Wednesdays & Sundays where for a tenner (per person), you get poppadom & dips, starter, main course, rice or naan, and coffee.

 :P
Mike and I will check it out eventually, glad you give it the thumbs up!

IA: Still really peeved at my landlord's behaviour.

UP: This has prompted me to go window-shopping for new places to live, so maybe I'll find someplace way more awesome.

Yeah, her behaviour pisses me off too, for you.   That kind of attitude would make me wanna move out.   I can't imagine trying to keep my flat in showroom condition every single minute.  But then again, I'm a horrible cleaner, so that would make me cringe anways.

Thanks, PB, glad I'm not the only one. I'm definitely not a neat freak, nor am I bothered by a modicum of hair/dust (otherwise I wouldn't have the awesome-but-constantly-shedding dog I have). More than that, though, it's the general principle of "why am I paying to have access to this room if I basically have to treat it as if it were a hotel?" (but without the room service and continental breakfast).

It's a shame, because my flatmate is pretty great, and having the park across the street is quite nice for the pup. But I'm not in a hurry, so I can afford to shop around a bit.

UP: Went out for a "leaving lunch" with my coworkers. One coworker encouraged me to let him buy me a drink, so I got a 1/2 pint of cider (while warning him that I'm a total lightweight).

IA: Now I feel rather fuzzy and sleepy.

UP: No one expects me to do any work, really, as I've already taken care of the tasks I had on my list, and it's a bit late to give me anything else to do.

UP: Got our new washing machine in tonight.  Our landlord and his hired worker bee have been very good about it and we only had to go 5 days without.

IA: The new machine has a lot less space in it than the old one, which means it's going to take FOREVER to catch up and we're going to have to do even more loads than we already do.  :-\\\\

Oh well, certainly better than nothing!

IA - Had to go to the doctors today, he's signed me off for two weeks and can't give me any guarantees blah blah blah

UP - Got my repeats, a new eye gel for my dried out eye, he did my flu shot and was generally lovely.

UP x 2 - My boy met me afterwards and took me to my favourite tapas place! It only have 10 tables and is lovely, had an amazing soupy Fabada stew with lots of black pudding, spinach cakes, calamares, chorizo , garlic king prawns and some lovely chicken.

Lush!

IA: DH had to have a tooth extracted yesterday unexpectedly & today we had a million & 1 things to do, the Registry Office was being a pain with me trying to schedule my NCS appointment.

UP: we managed to get them ALL done, have a nice cup of coffee in town today and I got my NCS appointment all sorted out for Thanksgiving day (FINALLY!!!! I ended upgoing down to the Registry Office in person). DH is doing well and not in too much pain...so I guess it's all good   :)

UP: I really want to be back in Leeds with DH and have a "normal" relationship with both of us in the same place.  [smiley=love.gif] And am working towards that end, planning on finishing up here in 2012.

IA: His renal consultant is going to start prep for dialysis in January 2011 -- so may have to dump all plans and move back sooner than planned.   :-\\\\

IA: Being ignored for 4 weeks (I sent 3 e-mails after we had a meeting) by a potential colleague who offered me the chance to volunteer on a really cool project that would be phenomenal for my CV.

UP: He finally (randomly) got back to me today with all the information and stuff, ready to get started on it.

IA:  I don't have the time I had when we originally arranged this, which means I might not be able to do it now, especially because I have paid work lined up.  :(

I'll just have to wait and see I guess.
