IA: My throat hurts a ton, even with pain meds, and I want to rip it out.
Are you allowed lots of ice cream?!?

No! :( I've been specifically ordered to stay away from soft foods (or, at least, an all-soft-food diet) and to eat normal/hard foods. Apparently it's to help keep everything clean and non-infected, but yeah, regular swallowing hurts, let alone swallowing food.

I've been semi-good so far. Tortellini and pizza yesterday, trying a veggie burger today. No ice cream yet, aside from the small container they gave me at the hospital.

Bummer!  :(

Yeah, that was going to my one perk in all this. :( Ah well, at least I should still get the sleep benefits, if/when my throat ever stops hurting.

Sorry you are in pain, EN.  >:(

My IA: We have to leave our little home by the sea. *sigh* I somehow always knew it wouldn't last. Where we live is too remote, a bit too far from the city, and now DH has a job working on the opposite side of the city, hence we will have to move as his commute will be 60 miles each way.  :o

UP: He has lived here nearly all of his life and is looking forward to a new place, and it makes me happy to think of us exploring a new place together. Plus we found a cute little village that would shave 30 minutes off his commute and will be the same distance for me to get to work (a tiny bit quicker for me, actually), plus closer to DSS, so maybe we could have some weeknight visits. It's close to a metro station, which means more shopping trips to the city, seeing more UKY friends, new places to explore and people watch, etc.

Since we are only renting, it wouldn't make sense to keep renting a place that is so far from his work, plus this job sounds perfect for him and I wouldn't want the long commute to hold him back or make him feel overly stressed. At any rate, it's still not too far to come and visit.  ;)

Thanks! I don't think I would be so annoyed if it didn't come and go (more come than go). Whenever it goes I think "oh good, maybe I've turned the corner", and then...not so much.

UP: Bought a bookcase (and assembled it), veg steamer, and set of knives today. Think the flat is finally coming together now. :)

IA: BF is now completely obsessed with the steamer and is talking about steaming everything possible. :P At least this should mean we eat more veggies, with the steamer and the veg box.

That sounds more positive than negative Jewlz, though it sucks that you have to leave your nice village!  :-\\\\

DH was the same way when we got a steamer. I drew the line at steaming meat. He suggested it, but not as yummy dumplings or anything. Just a big hunk of steamed chicken.  :-X

Chicken was the one thing he wasn't so keen on! I don't eat meat, so he's welcome to steam it whenever he likes, but it does sound weird.

UP: Went to the GP and got my throat checked out.

IA: Apparently it's infected. :( Just what I wanted.

UP: At least now I have antibiotics, which should help it get better much faster (fingers crossed!).

Yeah, I'm glad I didn't go with my BF's assessment of "looks fine and not too icky". ;)

Thanks to my dog wandering off to make friends (as usual) I discovered I have a voice again (for the moment, anyway). I sound like a dying frog, but at least you can hear me from more than 3" away.
