The husband is cooking dinner.

For a minute I thought I was just on the Unexpected Pleasures threat. When I realised it was part Inconvenient Annoyance as well, I had to chuckle a bit! I hope the food turned out okay!

The food always turns out okay, it's the process to get there that is the IA. It's better at our house here since I'm not sitting 5 feet away from where he's cooking. I'm able to preoccupy myself and let him get on with it.

IA:  I thought I today was going to be my last day at my volunteer gig because the project I'm working on is pretty much done.  Part of the final stuff I have to do is look over work the previous volunteer did.  Holy cow it was a mess.  I should have looked at it earlier, but silly me thought I was just going to be looking for punctuation and tagging mistakes.  There's actual research I need to do that she hadn't done.  :-[

UP: It means I can keep volunteering a little while longer, which is great because a) I like it there! b) it means I can stretch out the dates on my CV  :P  ;)

UP: BF won free tickets to a concert tonight.

IA: Still feeling death-like even after a 3-hour nap, so we're not going.

UP: Apparently it'll be available online to watch if we want.

IA: I have a sunburn on my arms and chest

UP: Because it's gloriously sunny and warm! It's a whole 20C/68F up here! :D :D :D And, when I was walking home from the gym, I ran into my friend and her mum having a picnic in the park so I sat and talked with them for an hour and that's how I got sunburnt.

Whohoo!!!!

IA: Just found out that a girl I knew from HS has leukemia and underwent a bone marrow transplant just recently.

UP: She's doing well and her counts keep going up!

IA: A frightening number of people my age, from my hometown are getting cancers

UP: My bestie friend with bone cancer emailed this morning to say her tumours were shrinking and her bone was growing back!

UP: We're getting a new fence put in and it's actually going according to the timeline!

IA: It's quite high, so it sort of blocks the nice view of the hills that we could see over the neighbours' garden.

UP: Lost view means more privacy?  I mean, as nice as our neighbours are, it will be an improvement to not have them witnessing me picking up dog poop in my PJs and  with Robert Plant-esque hair every morning.  ;D

IA: Mildly worrying: DH's cataract surgery is today (finally) and he's pretty much on his own.

UP: It will be over and done with at last and he should be able to see much better  :D

I'm sure it'll go fine. :) I was mostly annoyed by having to wear the weird plastic guard afterwards, the rest of the procedure was easy-peasy.

Will be thinking good thoughts in his direction!

Thanks!
Were you able to do the eye drops on your own? I wasn't concerned but then my aunt said all her friends who had it done were told they had to have someone else do it for them  ???

Yeah, it was fine. I sat on my couch, leaned my head back onto the back, and did the drops. Some days I'd go through 3 or 4 drops because I'd miss/blink/whatever, but even after I was done with the dosage I still had 1/3 bottle left of each thing.

They definitely didn't say I'd need to get someone else to do them (which is good, because I'm not sure how keen my flatmate would have been about that!). They did say I should take two weeks off work, but I went back on Monday after surgery on Thursday, and I was fine. ;) (The only reason they could give for the time off was so that I didn't bump into anything and injure my eye, but at least at work I'm not in danger of tripping over the cat/dog.)
