Shugga, yes that sounds very much like what I'm going to be doing.  To get started (and I am just getting started again), I booked myself in for three sessions with a personal trainer - we had the first one this evening.  He is definitely getting me into doing weights plus things like squats & lunges, alternating with cardio interval training.  I thought he was gonna kill me tonight - I could barely lift my arms & legs without weights afterwards - lol!  :P

When my trainer first had me doing lunges with weights OMG I was in sooo much pain afterwards & the next morning as well that lasted only about a week or 2 that's cause I got used to it. I wasn't in pain again until my trainer upped my weights again but it helped shape up bottom & thighs. ;)  :)  Whenever I get a new program from my trainer I always tell Dh I think my trainer is trying to kill me lol. ;)  :D  Dh says you always say that but she gets results though. ;)  :)

I know this much whenever I have been to the gym I sleep really good that night.;)  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

IA: Had all four wisdom teeth out this morning.  :(

UP: I never have to do that again!

Hope you have a speedy recovery! I don't think I ate "real" solid foods for about a month afterwards. (Had them done at age 26.)

Ugh! I had that done about 4 years ago.  It sucked, but you're right, never again! Hope you heal quickly!  Some people are lucky and barely notice it!

Thanks!

I look like Eddie Murphy in the Nutty Professor from the jaw up, but I suppose it could be worse.  :-\\\\

Ouch plainpearl! Hopefully you don't hurt too much and don't get dry sockets (wicked ouch!)

IA: Went back to work this morning.

IA: All my projects which I handed off before I left on holiday with specific instructions for moving along, were not any further along! Uggh >:(

UP: My boss cheered and had a huge grin on his face when he came into work this morning and saw me at my desk.   He now realises just how much I do and really appreciates me being in the department.

UP: Two different project teams cheered when I walked into the meeting room.  Guess they missed me as well!!

PB, I cheered when you walked into this room too!  ;D

shugga, well I'm envious - because I always sleep like crap the night after a workout, which is something of a dis-incentive really.  :-\\\\

At the moment, I'm just wondering - geesh, are my thighs ever going to stop hurting?!  And I'm due back in the gym tomorrow morning, so hopefully we are going to work on upper body tomorrow because my arms & shoulders & pectoral muscles do ache a bit, but not as bad as my thighs.  I know I should be glad because it means my body is knitting me up some new & stronger muscles (they simultaneously ache & feel already stronger at the same time), but I am not used to this pain.  [smiley=dead.gif]

That must really bite not being sleepy after doing a workout at the gym I can see how that would be a disincentive. ::)  :P I know the  exact feeling your talking about that's how I was when I first started going to the gym about simultaneously ache & feel already stronger at the same time. ;)  :)

Is it the kind of pain where you can barely lift yourself up off the toilet??  :P Been there and done that! My thighs were so sore once, I had to walk down the stairs backwards to take the pressure off my quads. Definitely take ibuprofen. Just taking the edge off the pain should help you sleep better too.

when I first start a new routine at the gym I'm usually pretty sore afterwards & the next morning but I have never been as sore as you have been CharmCityGirl. Lucky me ::)  :P I cant take ibuprofen it upsets my tummy so I have to use either deep heat or take a somewhat hot bath to relax any muscle pain I have.

Okay, it's not quite that bad - fortunately! And I thought it was pretty bad. A little less sore today, but we worked on upper body today to give my thighs a break. He said we are really going to go for the thighs & lower body on Monday though & it's probably going to hurt even worse after...  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

I'm definitely going to start doping on the ibuprofen a bit at night until it settles down a bit.  :P

I tried some Quorn sausages for breakfast today, because I fancied a 'Slimming World version' fryup for a change - just eggs & Quorn sausages cooked in Frylight spray, some Sriracha Sauce splashed over at the end.  Plus nectarines & blueberries on the side.  Anyway, the Quorn sausages were...um...interesting.  Very lean of course, but the strangest texture.  Certainly not the worst sausages I've ever had (the horrible mystery meat in Greggs sausage rolls come to mind there), but...well while I'll finish off this package, I don't think I'll buy them again.

My husband was all - for the love of sausages, why?!?!  :P

Best just stick to eggs next time.  Mmmmmm eggs!  :)

I think Quorn is nasty and I actually like veggie substitutes. Have you tried the Weight Watcher's sausages? I quite liked them. Also M&S makes a reduced fat sausage that is pretty nice. And it's still meat!  :P

I've never had the Quorn sausages, but the Cauldron ones are good (when I realized they contained egg, I had to stop eating them).  Morrisons has them.  The health shop on Town Street has nice veggie sausages in their cold case (these ones are vegan).  I think you'll like the Cauldron ones better though.
