IA: My phone rang at 5 a.m. this morning

UP: It was my advisor from Leeds Uni with all sorts of fabulous information and welcomes.  The department seems so warm and friendly and I only have official classes on Mondays.  :o

UP:  After some agonising time this morning (nerves!), got up the gumption to ring the woman about the job I'm looking at applying for.  She was pleasant & encouraging enough (as far as these things go...looking for a new job :-\\\\).  However...

IA:  The vacancy isn't really an active one at this time.  The business is going through some changes, may or may not be hiring for the role, won't know for a few weeks, etc...but she said to still send my CV through.

Oh well - that gives me more time (no tight deadline) to put my CV together & email it through to her.  Plus I need to get myself some smarter clothes for potential interviewing in the future.

Now after all that stress [smiley=bigcry.gif]...I shall 'treat' myself with a break - to hang up the laundry and walk down the street to Morrisons.  Woohoo.  :P

Awesome!  :) The emphasis is on lots of self directed learning, IMO.  :)  ;)

ETA: Meant to say in my experience, but I guess it's an opinion, as well.

Anything that is an excuse for shopping has got to be good, right?  :P

Good luck!  :)

UP: it's sunny again today  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

IA: my eyemask fell off this morning and I woke at 4.30 AM and it was hard to fall back asleep.....  ::)

If you like shopping, that is.  I don't especially for clothes (except in the US).  Also, I like wearing my tatty old comfy clothes...just not sure that prospective employers would be impressed with them.  :P

  Good luck!

Thanks!  I'm not sure it will come to anything, but worth a try.  Would just like to work for good, reasonably decent management again - if such a thing exists.  :-\\\\

Well MLG, I think this is a part IA part UP at it's finest.  I may need a swift kick in the bottom. (I may call on you for that.  ;))

IA: Broke up with the boyfriend. :(

IA2: As a result, have remembered that I'm new in town and have a practically non-existent social life/circle.

UP: At least I didn't waste more time with the boyfriend, and now I have more time/motivation to go out and meet people?

Sorry to hear this EN, but I love your positive attitude.  That always will get you a long way.

Thanks! Keeping up the positive attitude is a challenge sometimes, but I (usually) figure it's better to look at the bright side than mope about the non-bright side.

Find some clothes mojo by attaching a reward at the end of the task?  :P

Sorry to hear that. You've got a good frame of mind, though. Can you join a club or volunteer or something to meet people?  :)

I'm working on finding clubs/social activities to go to, and have managed to arrange a semi-full schedule for the next week. (Full for me, anyway, I still really enjoy/need quiet time on the couch with a book!) After that, we'll see, I'm going with the "one week at a time" mantra for now.

UP: My MIL won a 500 euro voucher for SimplyBe. She has given me 100 euro to spend, I just have to send her the details of what I want!

IA: I HATE internet clothes shopping. My body is one that I need to try EVERYTHING on, so I found a couple of things I like, but I'm not sure how they're going to turn out.  :-\\\\

You're dealing with things really well, I think. Good for you!  :)

Hope the visit is more positive than negative for you. Sending good luck vibes.  :)

IA:  It rained on our BBQ last night!  There wasn't rain in yesterday's forecast.  >:([smiley=bigcry.gif]  (we still did the BBQ, in the rain, with someone holding the garden table umbrella over me while I womaned the grill because the charcoal had just got going well when it started to rain - hmmmmf!)

UP:  At least the sun is back, somewhat, today and it's supposed to be warm again.  8)
