I have an UP today!!!!: My Macbook Pro is up and running again!!! I took it into the apple store and they fiddled with the power button or something and took out the battery and its working!!! I know it may only be temporary, but here's hoping it holds out!!!

IA: Still sick. Bleh!!

Hopeful upcoming UP: I will hopefully have a spot at a local practice where I can shadow for a couple of weeks while I continue to look for a job...hopefully this will help!!!

Feeling overall more positive today :-) Hey I may still be unemployed...but I have my precious macbook back and I will NEVER take it for granted again!!!!

IA:  Tired of my head being all stuffed up, and I'm completely knackered.  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

UP:  I need a holiday!  [smiley=idea2.gif] ;)

UP: I love duvet covers- the ability to mix and match and change the look of my bedroom in an instant is fantastic. Plus there are some really cool ones out there!

IA: I hate duvet covers- putting them on is like a 2 hour fight. Ha not really, but just when I think I have the system down (i.e. flipping inside out and then putting it on and flipping over) something goes wrong and its a battle. I usually win though  ;)

I used to safety pin the top of the duvet to the top of the duvet cover to keep it in place.

IA: I took my kittens to the vet today to get them fixed (the cabbie said I'm cruel, but I don't want to be knee-deep in more kittens this time next year) and they're home now, everything went okay, except Libby got a Cone of Shame that she's supposed to wear to keep her from licking her stitches. I'm not sure how this will keep her stitches from getting licked by her brother, but they said to put it on her so I did. She was so scared! She tried to back away from it and when that didn't work she tried running away from it, except she kept bumping into things and catching on things and she ran all over upstairs and all over downstairs and all over downstairs and she was honest-to-goodness panting and crying and when I finally got her cornered she managed to get it off. We decided this wasn't something we were willing to do to her and I can't yell at her everytime she licks herself, so we're just hoping she doesn't manage to pull the stitches before the incisions heal :(

UP: Both kittens are up and playing with their mice. Libby is noticeably quieter than Oliver, but she always is. They've et, drank, done their respective business, and now they're playing chase.

I paid 1000£ to sit in a room for almost 6 hours with my cellphone off and a book (and about 100 other people) unbelievably tedious.
UP: at the end, they gave me my ILR  ;D

IA: Working.  Can't be bothered, but I think that's due mostly to the type of work I'm doing.

UP: Working.  Getting some valuable cultural experience, a bit of money, and meeting all kinds of people.

It's tough getting myself out of "student mode".  I still want to be back in uni.  :P  ;)

UP: Was just given an astonishing amount of goods from FIL's garden: probably two dozen fresh eggs, two large pumpkins, a big bushel of apples, another big bushel of tomatoes, several ears of corn, beet root, loads of potatoes, a big bag of pears, and lots of big potatoes!  :o

IA: I have to get cooking in order to utilise all of this stuff... I'm planning to make tomato and red pepper soup, applesauce, and pumpkin puree. And thinking about making all of this stuff makes me tired!  :-\\\\ Plus we already have some veg we need to eat. Hmm.

UP: The company I'm working for wants me to stop contracting for them (my contract ends in 2 weeks) and start working for them permanently.

IA: I don't think they'll offer me a high enough salary to tempt me away from contracting (both in regards to income and time flexibility).

IA2: My boss's boss, who's been communicating with me about this, has made disparaging remarks about the "mercenary" nature of contractors, which makes me feel bad about wanting money/time flexibility (even though I know I shouldn't - feel bad, that is).
